New York City's Commercial Waste Zone (CWZ) program has officially expanded, with the Staten Island and Midtown South zones now in effect. The rollout marks another major milestone in the city's effort to create a safer, more efficient, and more sustainable commercial waste collection system.

Under the CWZ program, businesses are served by a limited number of licensed waste haulers within each zone. The new system is designed to reduce truck traffic, improve customer service, and increase recycling rates while supporting a cleaner New York City.

Cogent Waste Solutions is proud to be an authorized provider in both newly activated zones. In Staten Island, Cogent is one of only three licensed carters selected to serve local businesses. In Midtown South, Cogent provides comprehensive waste and recycling solutions for businesses throughout neighborhoods including Herald Square, Union Square, the Flatiron District, NoMad, Koreatown, One Penn Plaza, and portions of Chelsea.

Businesses located within either zone can now begin service with Cogent and take advantage of customized waste and recycling programs, including curbside collection, dumpsters, compactors, and tailored container solutions designed to meet their operational needs.

As the CWZ program continues to expand across New York City, Cogent Waste Solutions remains committed to helping businesses navigate the transition with dependable service, responsive support, and sustainable waste management solutions.
